Interior Painting in Cincinnati
Walls, ceilings, trim, doors and cabinetry — prepared properly, cut in cleanly, and finished in a house we leave as tidy as we found it.
Preparation is most of the job
Anyone can roll paint on a wall. What separates a job that looks sharp in eight years from one that looks tired in one is everything that happens first: filling nail holes and cracks, sanding back ridges from previous coats, caulking where trim has pulled away from the wall, and spot-priming water stains and marker so they do not ghost through the finish.
In older West Side homes — Covedale and Cheviot especially — plaster walls need a different approach from drywall. Patching plaster with the wrong compound leaves a repair that cracks again within a season.
What we paint inside
- Walls and ceilings in any room, including high stairwells and vaulted spaces
- Trim, baseboards, crown and doors — brushed for a clean line, not sprayed over
- Kitchen and bathroom cabinets — see cabinet refinishing
- Basements and garages with finishes made for concrete and damp
- Plaster and drywall repair before painting — see drywall repair
Living in the house while we work
Most of our interior customers stay in their homes throughout. We work room by room, cover floors and furniture, contain dust, and clean the work area at the end of each day. If you need a particular room finished first because of a child's bedroom or a home office, say so and we will sequence around it.
Choosing colours
We will talk colour with you if you want the help, including how a shade will actually read in your room once the light changes through the day — north-facing rooms in particular pull colours cooler than the sample card suggests. If you already know what you want, we will simply get on with it.
What it costs
It depends on the number of rooms, ceiling height and how much repair the walls need. We measure, look properly, and give you a written estimate at no charge. We price fairly for Cincinnati and the figure we write down is the figure you pay, unless you add work or we find something genuinely unexpected — and then you hear about it first.
Where we work
Our shop is on Leona Drive, so the West Side is home: Covedale, Cheviot, Bridgetown, Green Township, Colerain Township, Westwood and Delhi Township. We also work throughout greater Cincinnati including Madeira, Indian Hill, Kenwood, Hyde Park, Oakley, Mariemont and Anderson Township, and across the river in Florence, Kentucky.
Common questions
- How long does interior painting take?
- A single room is usually one to two days. A full interior is typically one to two weeks depending on size and wall repair needed.
- Do I need to move the furniture?
- No. We move what needs moving and cover the rest. Smaller breakables are best put away by you.
- Can you paint while we live in the house?
- Yes, almost always. We work room by room, contain dust and clean up each day.
- What paint do you use?
- It depends on the room. Kitchens, bathrooms and hallways need harder, more washable finishes than bedrooms. We choose for the surface and tell you why.
